KSI – ON POINT

The music video “On point” by very famous British youtuber KSI is based on “dissing” another famous American youtuber Logan Paul and also portraying his-self power, fame and success. Ksi was influenced to create this song due to his long arguments with another. The song was released before the boxing event between two youtubers, when the hype was optimum as both you tubers have a very wide fan base, therefore “On point was very successful hitting just under 25million views and 1million likes on only on youtube.

The Genre of the song is Rap, as it contains stereotypes of genre such as violence, fast flow, it is rhymed etc. Therefore “ON POINT” is one of the best music videos ever made by youtuber, and therefore this is one of the main reasons of success for this song.

The lyrics of the song – “Everything is on point (skrt skrt skrt skrt)
Apex looking like my natural
Flying everywhere I’m international” – this is one of the lines from the hook of the song, by saying this Ksi is portraying his success as “Everything is on point” and therefore he is living his best life and doesn’t need anything else as he has what he wants. Nevertheless he also portrays his fame as he states that he is “International”. Furthermore KSI follows up on the next by dissing Logan Paul and linking to their upcoming boxing fight – “Boy you ’bout to get it One to ten the only numbers then the medic”. KSI portrays his masculinity by threatening the guy, and linking to the rules of ko In boxing, as well as stating the Logan will need a medicine help after the fight.

The music video begins with Ksi himself jumping from the sky and crashing into the ground and scaring Logan Paul and his friends, mimicking the famous character Thanos from famous Marvel Film Infinity War. This once again portrays KSI as the dominant/stronger guy and therefore mocks Logan. KSI then follows up by storming into Logans house beating up his brother and his friends as well as breaking stuff in his house and once again mocks Logan by re-acting the recent horrible events in Logans and his family History.

Throughout the whole song and music video KSI is represented as dominant character in all situations, it is clearly portrayed through the camera language, lyrics and mis-en-scene.
